About Rachel
Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, I made the move to Seattle in 2012. Since then, I have fully immersed myself in all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. From the mountains to the sound, and from a concert hall to a local dive bar, I am always seeking new experiences.

Volunteerism
I am passionate about giving and going beyond. I believe that each person can have a great impact on their community and the welfare of others. By sharing my time and talents, I know that I am effecting change for the better.
Humans have a responsibility for the welfare of our animal companions. As a dog foster with Dog Gone Seattle, and previously Ginger’s Pet Rescue, I open my home as a temporary haven for rescued dogs to recover and rehabilitate. By providing safety, training, and socialization, I am helping homeless dogs find new forever homes in Washington state.
Millions of people worldwide cannot afford or access menstrual products. To help combat period poverty, I handmake hygienic reusable menstrual pads from scratch. I donate these pads to Too Little Children for distribution to remote villages that lack a reliable supply of affordable and disposable menstrual products.
The loss of an infant is a devastating event for a family. To help grieving families say goodbye to their child with grace and compassion, I design and sew infant burial gowns using materials from donated wedding dresses. Through coordination with the Emma and Evan Foundation, these gowns are donated to hospitals, funeral homes, and birthing centers.
I am also a strong supporter of the Seattle music scene. I am frequently in the audience of Emerald City Music, Seattle Symphony, Seattle Pro Musica, and dozens of small underground local bands.
